Did you know? On any given day, you have so Did you know?

On any given day, you have somewhere in the neighborhood of 6,000 thoughts. Many of those thoughts happen in your subconscious without you even paying much attention to them.

Have you ever been going about your day and “randomly” started to feel anxious or sad? Chances are, some unwanted thought made its way into your mind without your recognition.

Our thoughts impact our emotions. So, when you have a “bad” thought (in your conscious or subconscious mind) it triggers a chemical reaction in your body which results in you feeling bad (sad, mad, anxious, etc.).

The next time you “randomly” feel an emotion, we challenge you to get curious and find the root cause.
“My six year old drew this picture for me when I “My six year old drew this picture for me when I was struggling with postpartum anxiety in 2018. I asked what it was and he told me it was a lightning storm at night and then a rainbow and sunshine in the morning.” - @ariellewozniak

If you're currently in the struggle, there's good news, postpartum depression and anxiety only last for a season.

Like all emotions, postpartum depression and anxiety are temporary. Despite what it might feel like, your current feelings don’t last forever.

☀As our favorite book puts it, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” The night may seem long, but we promise the sun will shine again.

In the meantime, don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help.
“[After battling with postpartum anxiety], I nev “[After battling with postpartum anxiety], I never thought I’d be capable of being alone with [my] kids for an extended period of time without any help.”

Anxiety has a way of stealing your confidence. So many of the women we help feel paralyzed under the weight of anxiety. The hardest part is that the only way to regain your confidence is by doing things that seem scary.

In last week’s blog post, @ariellewozniak shared her story about breaking through the fear of anxiety to live a fully present life. Today we’re challenging you to do one thing you’ve been avoiding because of anxiety.

Report back and let us know how it goes!âŹ‡ïžâ

Do any of these thoughts sound familiar? These are Do any of these thoughts sound familiar? These are some of the most common lies postpartum moms believe.

Allow us to combat each of these lies with the truth!

⭐Your family is not better off without you. In fact, they need you. Of all the women on the face of this earth God chose YOU to be the mother of your sweet baby.

⭐You are an amazing mom who is trying her best. You aren’t perfect and that’s ok. In case you didn’t know it, none of us are perfect, we’re all a work in progress.

⭐You will get better. Everything you’re going through is temporary (the good and the bad). It will pass and you will grow through it.

Don’t believe every lie that floats into your mind.
"Progress is not linear. I know it’s clichĂ© but "Progress is not linear. I know it’s clichĂ© but it’s so true. If your journey is anything like mine, it may look more like the Cha Cha Slide:

✹Rather than focusing on every step (past, present and future), it’s important to focus on where you are today. Be present in this moment without worrying about how long it will take to get to the future you’re hoping for. The constant focus on the future actually steals the joy from today. So, you’re not doing yourself any favors."

It needed to be said
We live in an age w It needed to be said

We live in an age where it’s easy to be deceived into thinking that everyone else’s life is perfect. The danger of social media is that everyone is sharing their “highlight” reel instead of being real. Most people don’t publicly share their struggles.

“When I was struggling with ppd after my first son, I hated going on Facebook and Instagram. I saw all the perfect moms with their perfect babies, perfect postpartum bodies and perfect relationships. It made me feel like I was the only mom struggling. After a while I just started to think something must be wrong with me.” - @ariellewozniak

With the constant comparison to impossible benchmarks of perfection, it’s no wonder most women battle in the dark with postpartum depression and anxiety.

Let’s stop pretending
it’s okay not to be okay.
